The Ikarus Chamber Players was founded in 2005 by musicians devoted to an innovative exploration of music both old and new. Ikarus is dedicated to creative programming and innovative performance venues. Meeting at an intersection of various musical styles, Ikarus infuses each style with knowledge of the other and invites the listener to experience each style through the reflection of the other, in turn opening doors for a broad historical and cultural soundscape. The core ensemble expands in order to include collaborative musicians, composers, and artists and has been particularly involved with premiereing new works by young composers. They have performed at Trinity Church on Wall Street, The National Arts Club, Tarisio Auction House, the Tenri Cultural institute and on the Music Mondays Series at the Advent Lutheran Church. The American, Canadian, and British members of Ikarus are internationally acclaimed soloists and chamber musicians who have appeared at major concert halls throughout the world.
